Basic Bitmunk Licenses

From DBWiki

There are three types of base licenses that you can use on Bitmunk: Public Domain, Standard Copyright and Standard Copyright with Bitmunk Redistribution.

The Standard Copyright license is the default for all digital work that is registered with Bitmunk. This means that a creator must first claim the creative work and then explicitly set the license to Standard Copyright with Bitmunk Redistribution to enable the sale of the digital work on the network.

The Public Domain license means that you are gifting the work to the public domain and retain absolutely no rights to the work. This does not mean that you cannot place a royalty on the digital work if it is re-sold on Bitmunk. This is a way for people to reward you for donating your creation to the public domain. This does mean, however, that anybody can copy, modify and redistribute the work without notifying your or without compensating you.

The Standard Copyright with Bitmunk Redistribution allows the creator to use the complete protection provided by the Berne Convention. An additional provision is added that allows anybody on Bitmunk to re-distribute the work on behalf of the content creator, following the freedoms and restrictions that the creator sets. Basically, this is the creator saying "As long as I get paid on my terms, I'm cool with other people re-distributing my digital content."
